Lisa Brandt is an author (among other things) living and working in London, Ontario.   Her current novel, The Naked Truth, is a true account of a summer job she had when she was eighteen years old…

working at a nudist resort.

I laughed out loud several times while reading The Naked Truth, not just at some of her interactions with the nudists, but also with her experiences of simply being eighteen and working in the ever-demanding service industry.

I found myself both rooting for and admiring her tenacity in holding onto her own personal opinions and integrity.  (I don’t know if it’s because we both come from small towns, but really, she reminded me so much of me when I was eighteen!)

I can’t recommend this book highly enough.   It is a short, easy read, perfect for a hot day at the beach or by the pool.  But I warn you, you’ll want to read some parts aloud to whomever happens to be within earshot, so you might want to bring a friend – a mature one… but not too mature.

Pick up a copy and enjoy!
